Founded in 1930, the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) is an international, individual membership technical association of more than 15,000 engineers, planners, and other practitioners involved with the safe and efficient movement of people, vehicles and goods on streets, highways, and transit systems in over 80 countries.
In addition, ITE publishes a monthly magazine; sponsors a large number of technical councils that prepare and publish technical reports, bulletins and standards; holds international conferences; and participates in technical discussions with governments and other agencies. ITE also maintains a Computer Bulletin Board system for members and runs a mail order book shop specializing in transportation publications. ITE members usually receive discounts on services including conferences and seminars and purchases from the book shop.
ITE international runs a WWW server. This server provides additional information about ITE and links to other transportation resourses. Local resourses are accessable from here, go back to the previous page to access them. Go directly to the ITE WWW Site
